Section Offering Heat Map Report

Overview

You can access the Section Offering Heat Map report from the Schedule Refinement/Section Lists folder in the Report App. The report displays an institution’s section offerings by time of day based on enrollment ratio, the number of section meetings, total seats, and total enrollment. The pivot table displayed in the report has built-in heat functionality to highlight the times of day when the schedule is busiest.

Filters

Filters default to ‘Include all’ unless otherwise noted.

Tabs

Tabs located at the top will allow users to toggle between widgets that display tables based on time of day. 

Enrollment Ratio Tab

Selecting the "Enrollment Ratio" tab, the user will see the institution’s enrollment ratio (calculated by dividing total enrollment over total seats). The chart will show enrollment ratios broken down by time and the day of the week. The values will be displayed as a percentage, with higher ratios being highlighted by a darker blue color.

Section Meetings Tab

The "Section Meetings" tab will display the number of section meetings offered based on the time of the day and day of the week. Higher counts of offerings will be highlighted with darker shades of blue.

Seats Tab

The "Seats" tab will display the maximum number of seats provided based on the section meetings that are being offered in the time slice each day. Higher totals of seats will be highlighted with darker shades of blue.

Enrollment Tab

The "Enrollment" tab will display the number of enrolled students based on the section meetings that are being offered in the time slice each day. Higher enrollment totals will be highlighted with darker shades of blue.
