Overview
The Pathway Analysis by Campus report builds upon the concepts of Enrollment Health, providing additional insights specific to your pathway design. This perspective can help you understand the extent to which course choice and course sharing may be impacting degree completion and program sustainability.
What is Pathway Health?
A proxy for expected enrollment in pathway courses. It is based on the average course health of the courses in the pathway.
Pathway Health is 15, meaning a typical course in the Pathway would have an enrollment of 15 is offered every term.
Access
The Pathway Analysis by Campus report is located in the Ad Astra Report app under the Pathway Health folder. All widgets can be filtered by specific pathways and campuses using the filters on the right-hand side of the screen.
The top widgets highlight the Pathways, Campus Fragments, and Average Courses per Campus Fragments
Pathways
The count of distinct pathways and campuses.
Campus Fragments
The distinct campus/pathway combinations. Average Students per Campus Fragment is referring to the average number of students assigned to each campus/pathway combination.
Average Courses Campus Fragment
The average number of course options in each campus/pathway. Unique Campus Courses refers to the count of unique courses offered on each campus.
Average Pathway Health per Pathway Widget
The Average Pathway per Pathway widget displays the average Pathway health per Pathway.
Average Pathway Health of Each Campus and Pathway by Campus Widget
The Average Pathway Health of Each Campus and Pathway by Campus widget displays the average pathway health of each campus and pathway by campus widget.
Average Non-Shared Low Health Courses Widget
Average Non-Shared Low Health Courses: The average number of course options with course health less than ten in a single pathway and campus that are not in any other pathway on that campus.
Unique Non-Shared Low Health Campus Courses: The total number of unique courses with course health less than ten that are not in any other pathway on that campus.
Click on the button in the widget and a list of the Non-Shared Low Health Courses will open.
Non-shared Low Health Courses Graph
The Non-shared Low Health Courses graph shows the total number of non-shared low health courses in each campus/pathway.
Average Low Health Courses Widget
Average Low Health Courses: The average number of courses, including courses offered in single or multiple pathways, where the health is less than ten.
Unique Low Health Campus Courses: The total number of courses, including courses offered in single or multiple pathways, where the health is less than ten.
Clicking the button will bring up a list of the Non-Shared Low Health Courses.
Course and Campus by Health Category Graph
The Course and Campus by Health Category graph breakdowns each course and campus by health category.
Pathway Health and Course Sharing by Campus Fragment Widget
The Pathway Health and Course Sharing by Campus Fragment widget shows the relationship of pathway health to course sharing. The "Number of Pathways" represented corresponds to the average number of pathways containing each course of the pathway.
Pathway Course Choice Widget
The Pathway Course Choice widget displays by pathway, the percentage of pathway sequences that contain choice, and within those sequences, the average number of course options.
Pathway Health by Campus Fragment Graph
The Pathway Health by Campus Fragment graph is showing pathway health for each campus/pathway. The colors correspond to high (20 or greater), medium (between 10 and 10), and low (less than 10) pathway health.
Pathway Health Data Grid
The data grid below the graph lists the pathway health, non-shared low health courses, and total low health courses per campus/pathway.

Pathway Health Term Definitions
Course Health
A proxy for the expected enrollment of each specific course. The calculation starts with the number of students in the pathway, per campus, per term, and is reduced by course choice in the pathway sequence, and increased by pathway sharing.
Campus Fragments
Distinct campus/pathway combinations.
Low Health Courses
Courses with a proxy enrollment of less than 10.
Non-Shared Low Health Courses
Low health courses that are not shared by any other pathway on campus.
Course Sharing
Refers to the same course being offered in multiple pathways. If a course is shared, then students from each shared pathway could be expected to enroll in that course, therefore increasing the overall health of each pathway.
Course Choice
Refers to more than one course being an option to satisfy an individual sequence. Course choice can lower pathway health, as it spreads enrollment across multiple courses.
