Historical Snapshot Comparison Report

Overview

The Historical Snapshot Comparison report shows the progression of student enrollment with the ability to compare against historical performance to identify change over time.

Filters

Filters default to ‘all’ of that category unless otherwise noted.

Enrollment Progression by Term Widget

The Enrollment Progression by Term Widget is a chart that displays enrollment progression (enrollment by days until start of term) and is not influenced by term or section filters.

Widget Interaction

• Left-Click
  • Left-click on any spot to apply the ‘days until start of term’ filter.
  • This will affect all other widgets on the report and alter the ‘Days Until Start of Term’ filter.
  • To unselect an offset day, click on the ‘clear selection’ icon in the widget heading.
• Slider Bar
  • The bar below the bar graph is a good way to zone in on a group that has a lot of items in a category.
  • Click and drag the window to move the whole window while retaining its size.
  • Drag the right and left bars on either side of the grey window to zoom in.
• Category Bar
  • The bottom category bar will allow unselecting of undesired categories in order to focus on pertinent ones. Selecting/unselecting these on individual charts will not affect displays of any other widget.

Historical Snapshot Summary Widget

The Historical Snapshot Summary widget is a pivot chart that allows a comparison of section enrollment data between multiple terms in a particular point in time, aggregated by campus. In order to get a comparison, data for the point in time in question must be available for more than one term. Enrollment Progression by Term widget can be used to identify such a case and the filter Days Until Term Start will allow the selection of the time in question.

Course Details Widget

The Course Details widget is a pivot chart that allows the comparison of section enrollment data between multiple terms in a particular point in time aggregated by course. In order to get a comparison, data for the point in time in question must be available for more than one term. Enrollment Progression by Term widget can be used to identify such a case and the filter Days Until Term Start will allow the selection of the time in question.

Widget Interaction

• Clicking on any link will bring up the snapshot details for the section selected.
• Filtering from the report will also apply in the section details drill-in.
• Further filtering will apply based on what value was selected on the drill-in.
• To leave the drill-in, click anywhere off of the drill in visual and return to the Historical Snapshot Comparison report.
