When first visiting Monitor, you’ll be directed to the Courses tab. This view provides a list of courses with their enrollment ratios.
Your institution's admin can create Campus Groups to see course offering recommendations and registration tracking data in Align and Monitor for a logical group of campuses in addition to individual campuses. You can turn on a Section Breakout, displaying the number of sections and their fill rates on the course list.
When sections are cross-listed, enrollment ratios are calculated based on the whole cross-list, using the max seats imported from the SIS and the proportion of the overall enrollment received. For more information on cross-lists, read the Cross-list Sections in Monitor article.
How recent is my data?
You can always see the last updated date next to your search functionality above the course list. This date and time are based on the last data snapshot taken.
You can click "More" in the filter menu for additional drop-down filters you can add to help you narrow your results. The list of additional filters is dependent on the kind of data you are viewing (e.g., Align vs. Monitor vs. Enrollment, etc.). Once you have added a filter, click on "More" again to remove it.
The list can be sorted in ascending or descending order by Course, Enrollment Ratio, or Sections by clicking on the desired column header.

The Monitor course list page can be exported to a .csv file so you can share or manipulate the data for your own needs. Look for the export icon near the top of the page. Just click this icon, confirm you want to download the file and a .csv file will be saved to your computer's default download location.
The Monitor course list export includes course identifying information:
- Enrollment ratio
- Registration status (relative to enrollment ratio)
- Seats offered
- Current enrollment
- Number of sections offered
- Campus group (if applicable)
Once a user has selected a course, additional course-level information and dashboards are displayed.
Within a course, on the Section tab, the Section list can be exported to a .csv file so you can share or manipulate the data for your own needs. Look for the export icon near the top of the page. Click the export icon, confirm you want to download the file and a .csv file will be saved to your computer's default download location.
To help support the section scheduling and schedule building experience, the export includes a tag to any field that has been edited in Ad Astra. In the spreadsheet generated by the export, "(edited)" will display in the applicable column following the value. This will help answer the question "how do we know what was edited in Ad Astra so that we can put those changes into our SIS".
Section and Meeting Details
you can open a section to view two panels that include the Meeting and Section details. Learn how you can edit Sections and Meetings.
You can click the Notify icon from either the course list or within an individual course to let the system know you’d like to receive a notification when the registration status changes on a specific course.
At the bottom of every course, you’re able to make comments and tag other Ad Astra users. If you’ve tagged another user, they will receive a notification prompting them to view your comment.
Users can delete their own comments.
The Analyze tab allows users to see a high-level dashboard view of registration metrics. You can now filter this view by campus!
