Exams are a crucial part of higher education, and it’s important to schedule them correctly. In Astra Schedule, Exam Schedules can be created and applied to academic sections based on the mapping of section meeting patterns to exam meeting patterns. In this lesson, we’ll cover the three main components that need to be configured to successfully leverage the exam scheduling functionality in Astra Schedule: Exam Types, the Exam Session, and Exam Time Mapping.
Exam Types
Exam Sessions
Exam Time Mapping
Rolling Forward Exam Time Mappings
In future Exam Sessions, if the Section Meeting Pattern and corresponding Exam Meeting Pattern are the same, then you have the option to Roll Forward Exam Time Mappings. You'll still need to Add the Exam Session and follow all steps prior to the Exam Time Mapping. Once those steps are completed, click on Edit Exam Time Mappings and select “Roll Forward Exam Times.”
You will see previous exam sessions listed. Select the Exam Session that has the related exam meeting patterns mapped. Review the mapped times and make any necessary updates. Follow the same steps to apply exam times and view your exams in the section list!
To summarize, we’ve successfully covered the three main components that need to be configured to leverage the exam scheduling functionality in Astra Schedule which are Exam Types, Exam Session, and Exam Time Mapping. Now, it’s time to log in and schedule your exams! This concludes the academics portion of our course, which means it’s time to start using the available space to schedule events or to review the foundational elements of Astra Schedule.
